Women contributing their best to ‘white revolution’, says Karimnagar dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao

KARIMNAGAR: Ch Rajeshwara Rao, chairman, the Karimnagar Milk Producer Company Limited which is also called as Karimnagar Dairy, has said that the women dairy farmers were contributing their best to the “white revolution” in the district.

The Dairy chairman had inaugurated the all-women Milk Producers institute (MPI) in Deshrajpalli village in Ramadugu mandal on Thursday. Co-director Santu Prakash Reddy, MPI president A Rajitha, sarpanch Kola Ramesh, MPTC member E Mahender Reddy, upa-sarpanch Ratnakar Reddy and others were also present. The MPI building was constructed at a cost of Rs 6 lakhs and the Karimnagar dairy provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh.
Presently, the all-women MPI was supplying 160 litres of milk per day and they had set a target of supplying 300 litres of milk per to the Karimnagar dairy.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajeshwara Rao said that there was lot of women empowerment by taking up dairy units and supporting the family by providing additional and regular source of income along with farming activities and also providing nutritional food supplement to the family. Explaining about the importance of women in dairy, he said that the Karimnagar dairy was having a total of 38 women MPIs in the old Karimnagar district and supporting the dairy in milk revolution.
Listing out various welfare schemes introduced by the dairy for the welfare of the milk producing farmers and the milking animals, he said that the Karimnagar dairy would soon open the state of the art modern Mega dairy in Nallagoda village of Thimmapur mandal with three lakh litres handling capacity. Accordingly, the dairy was opening more Bulk milk cooling units to increase the procurement of the milk and empower the farming community.
