Vriksha bandhan at Vivekananda college in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: Responding to the call given by Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education chairman Dr WG Prasanna Kumar, the management of Vivekananda degree and PG college in Karimnagar town has taken up the novel programme of tying ‘rakhies’ (Vriksha bandhan) programme to protect the saplings and help nature from the environmental pollution.

 

On the eve of Raksha bandhan, college principal Ch Srinivas, administrative officer Bandi Sravan Kumar, UBA coordinator R Kiran Kumar, academic coordinator B Rameshwar Rao, NSS national awardee B Sampath Kumar and others participated in the tying of rakhies prepared by a student D Ratna Sai Aasritha, who prepared eco-friendly rachis to tie to the trees and took a pledge to protect them by nurturing regularly.
