Union Minister flays police brutality and arrest of Bandi Sanjay

KARIMNAGAR: Launching a scathing attack against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for autocratic government in the newly formed Telangana state, Union Minister of Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy has said that there was no suppression of the Telangana protagonists during the statehood movement in the region.
Is it wrong to fight for the cause of the teachers and employees on the controversial GO 317, he asked and flayed the police authorities for their undemocratic attitude and gate-crashing into the MP office and attacking the BJP rank and file and causing serious injuries. He warned that the autocratic would not remain forever and the people of Telangana state have self-respect and they would teach a lesson at an appropriate time.
The Union Minister along with BJP MLA Etala Rajender, BJP leader G Vivekanand, Tula Uma met BJP state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who was lodged in Karimnagar jail, during the ‘mulakath’ on Tuesday. Later, the Minister and the BJP leaders visited the house of BJP state president and other party leaders, who sustained injuries in the police attack during the arrest of BJP state president on Sunday.
Talking to newsmen, Mr Kishan Reddy charged that the TRS government had launched new culture in the state. If the opposition plans a dharna in Hyderabad, they house arrest the leaders in all the districts, he said and added that the police allow only the Chief Minister, Ministers, MPs and MLAs to stage dharnas and rasta rokos. If the opposition parties or trade union leaders others plan agitations, they were arrested brutally, he flayed.
He reminded that the Union government provide water, electricity, sanitation and other facilities for the farmers, who staged agitations for over a year period in New Delhi. “We never harassed any farmer during the agitation period”, he claimed. Condemning the registration of false cases and illegal arrest of BJP state president and other leaders, he said that they would fight in the court of law and continue their agitations for the cause of people.
BJP legislator Etala Rajender alleged that Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana was working as TRS party worker. He reminded that the power would not remain forever and added that the BJP would attain power in 2023 elections. BJP leaders Prathap Ramakrishna, K Mruthyunjayam and others were also present.
