Union Minister all praise for Singareni for its diversified activities

HYDERABAD: Union Minister of State for Coal, Mines and Railway Raosaheb Patil Danve was all praise for the Singareni Collieries Company Limited for diversifying its business activities by entering into thermal and solar power generation along with coal production.
The Union Minister held a review meeting with Singareni chairman and managing director N Sridhar in Hyderabad on Monday. On this occasion, the Union Minister said that he was inspired and fascinated with the progress and diversification of the activities by the Singareni for the benefit of the company.
He informed the Singareni authorities to set up solar power stations in other states including the Maharashtra state to meet the growing demand for power. He also assured to visit the Singareni and inspect the coal, thermal and solar power generations of the company tentatively next month. He also hailed the Singareni for the steady progress in coal production since last over six years.
He congratulated the Singareni for providing the coal and also serving the nation by generating solar and thermal power. He also appreciated Singareni for its environmental protection measures and corporate social responsibility activities.
SCCL Chairman N Sridhar and Director (Operations) S Chandrashekar explained the details through a powerpoint presentation. Director (Finance, projects & planning, Personal) N Balaram, Director (E&M) D Satyanarayana Rao, ED (Coal movement) J Allwyn, GM (Coordination) K. Suryanarayana were also present.
Later, the Union Minister participated in the 47th Coal India formation day celebrations through video conference. Speaking from Hyderabad, he said that Coal India was playing a crucial part in the country’s progress and urged the authorities to increase the production of coal. Stating that the government companies should ensure adequate supply of coal to the thermal power stations in the country, he hoped that Coal India would be able to achieve 1000 million tonnes of coal production by 2025.
