UN volunteers day observed in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: Additional Collector GV Shyam Prasad Rao has lauded the role of the volunteers during the outbreak of the pandemic Covid virus by extending their services for the betterment of society and the people suffering from the deadly virus.

He was participating in the UN volunteers’ day organised at the Collectorate in Karimnagar town on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Collector appreciated the noble services being rendered by the volunteers through their respective organisations for the cause of society. He informed the volunteers to continue the same spirit for bringing a change in society.
UNICEF coordinator Kishan Swamy said that the change which was being expected from the society should begin with the volunteers and start helping the society in any form by creating some time. Later, the Additional Collector handed over appreciation certificates to the volunteers. District volunteers association president Pavani, district leaders Srinivas, Geetha, Prashanth, Srinivas Reddy, Laxmi, Kalyani, Ravinder and others were also present. On this occasion, the volunteers vowed to take up a week-long shramdhan (voluntary labour) programme in various villages.
