TSCPCR member informs officials to take measures to free bonded labourers working in brick kilns and quarries
KARIMNAGAR: Telangana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (TSCPCR) member Y Brindadhar Rao has informed the officials to take steps for the liberation of bonded labourers working in the brick kilns and quarries in various parts of Karimnagar district.
At a review meeting with the officials in Karimnagar town on Monday (February 6, 2023), Mr Brindadhar instructed the officials to form into special teams and free the bonded labourers working in various sectors in the district and take stern criminal action against the accused persons. He asked the officials to conduct special drives to ensure safe working environment and prompt payment of minimum wages to all the labourers.

He directed the officials to take steps that all the quarry and brick kiln owners must maintain muster rolls and other records without fail. Stating that the Operation Smile was yielding good results, he appreciated the Karimnagar district authorities for checking the child marriages and eradication of child labourers.
Additional Collector Garima Agarwal, CWC chairman Dhanalaxmi, DWO K Sabitha, Karimnagar RDO Anand Kumar, Additional DCP G Chandramohan, DEO Ch Janardhan Rao, Assistant Labour Commissioner Koteshwar Rao and others were also present.
