TSCAB chairman inform KDCCB managers to increase UPI digital transactions

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 08, 2023: Mr Konduru Ravinder Rao, chairman of NAFSCOB, TSCAB and Karimnagar DCCB, informed the bank branch managers of the need to raise their digital transaction capacities substantially to keep pace with the trend of using the IT.

Stating that Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCC) was the first cooperative sector bank to launch the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and provide Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay services on par with the commercial banks nine months ago, he said that the utilisation of UPI services was only 6.8 per cent till date.

He instructed the bank branch managers to ensure that 50 per cent of the customers use the UPI transactions by September 30 this year and later achieve 100 per cent by the end of this financial year. More technology usage would ensure less workload on the bank staff, he pointed out.

Participating in the DCCB branch managers’ monthly review meeting at the head office in Karimnagar town on Thursday, Mr Rao expressed concern over inoperative bank accounts and directed them to make all the accounts operative by consulting the customers and organising financial literacy campaigns. Informing the bankers to conduct more FLC programmes to attract new customers and increase deposits, he said that the DCCB was providing the highest interest rates when compared to any other national bank.

Directing the bank managers to conduct monthly meetings with PACS secretaries to review the performance, he informed them to take measures for converting all the PACS into banks by opening counters and providing all banking services at the doorstep of the farmers in the villages. He also informed the bankers to help the customers in securing their PAN cards through customer service centres (CSC). CEO N Satyanarayana Rao, general managers Prabhakar Reddy, Ushasri, Sales Officer Raju, PDC resource person G Satyanarayana, DGM, AGMs and others were also present.
