Traffic diversion on Karimnagar-Jagtial road for virtual inauguration of Govt Medical College in Kothapalli on September 15
Chief Minister KCR promised government medical college in Karimnagar town during his visit in August 2014
After nine-long years of waiting, the medical college was sanctioned and is coming up in Kothapalli village when the district authorities allocated the land for the medical college at SU Pharmaceutical college on the shores of LMD reservoir
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 12, 2023: In the wake of district administration deciding to inaugurate the newly sanctioned Government Medical College in Kothapalli with much pomp and gaiety on September 15, the authorities have instructed the diversion of the traffic on the busy Karimnagar to Jagtial road following the taking out a massive rally on September 15.
In a statement here on Tuesday, Collector B Gopi said that all the private educational institutions would participate in a massive rally from Rekurthi to Kothapalli Government Medical College on September 15. In view of the rally, the vehicles on the busy road from Jagtial to Karimnagar town would be diverted via Velichala cross roads and Chinthakunta by-pass road which was completed during the Congress regime. Similarly, the vehicles proceeding from Karimnagar town to Jagtial would be diverted by via Chinthakunta to Velichala cross roads towards Jagtial. The Collector informed the people to take note this instructions and plan their journey accordingly.
Incidentally, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would be inaugurating the medical colleges virtually from Hyderabad on September 15. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister, during his maiden visit to Karimnagar town after attaining power and formation of Telangana state in August 2014, promised the sanction of a government medical college in Karimnagar. Following the instructions, the district authorities had also allocated 42 acres of land belonging to University Pharmaceutical Sciences College of Satavahana University for the medical college, which was well-connected by-pass road without any traffic snarls on a serene location.
However, after nine long years of wait, the government had sanctioned a medical college in Karimnagar town. Instead of setting up in the sprawling and serene locations on the shores of LMD reservoir, the ruling party leaders had set up the medical college on the premises of TS seeds in Kothapalli village on the outskirts of Karimnagar town for ‘obvious reasons’.
