Tirumala ghat road closed due to landslides

KARIMNAGAR: Following the incessant rains and the landslides, the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam authorities have temporarily closed the first ghat road from Thursday 7 pm onwards in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh state.
The devasthanam authorities have completely closed the travel on the ghat road following the rock slides. Besides, the trees were also being uprooted on the ghat road causing traffic interruptions. Hence, the TTD authorities had closed the ghat road and deployed the security forces.
In the meantime, the Tirupathi temple town had been completed inundated due to the incessant rains forcing the authorities to swing into action. The officials had also opened 24X7 control room to monitor the situation and dewater all the water-logging areas in the town.
