Telangana folk singer and TS warehousing corporation chairman Sai Chand passed away

Condolences from all sections of society, KCR, KTR, TPCC president, NAFSCOB chairman, TRSMA state president and others express shock and grief over the untimely demise of talented artiste

HYDERABAD, JUNE 29, 2023: Telangana State Warehousing Corporation chairman, Telangana activist and folk singer V Sai Chand (39) died of cardiac arrest on Thursday.

Sources said that Sai Chand along with his family members went to their farmhouse in Karukonda of Nagarkurnool district on Wednesday evening. After midnight, he complained of chest pain and was shifted to a local private hospital. When his condition deteriorated, the family members shifted him to Care Hospital in Hyderabad where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Sai Chand and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. Recollecting Sai Chand’s role during the statehood movement, he said “Telangana society lost a great singer and artiste. He ignited the Telangana spirit during the movement and thereafter, spread the message of development through his songs. It is unfortunate that we lost him, especially when he is rising to new heights.”  He recalled that his public meetings were never conducted without Sai Chand’s performance.

Saichand was born at Amarchinta of Wanaparthy district on September 20, 1984. He pursued his post-graduation, but gained fame as an artist and singer from his student days. In the second phase of Telangana movement, he ignited the Telangana spirit among the people through his song and dance. He has been actively creating awareness on the development and welfare programmes of the BRS government after the State formation. In December 2021, Saichand was appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana State Warehouse Corporation and have been serving in the office since then.

Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar, Lok Sabha member Komatireddy Venkata Reddy condoled the death of Saichand and recalled his role in the movement. Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Finance and Health Minister T. Harish Rao, Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashath Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and others also condoled the death of Saichand.

NAFSCOB and TSCAB Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family memberse. “Untimely death of a young and talented artiste is a great loss to the Telangana state. He played a crucial role during the statehood movement with his songs and added that Sai Chand will always remain in the hearts of the people of state through his songs”, he stated.

Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA) state president Yadagiri Shekhar Rao expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members. He said the sudden demise of young artiste was a great loss to the Telangana state.
