Telangana Bhim Army urges health cards to farmers

KARIMNAGAR: The Bhim Army Telangana state unit has urged Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy to provide Arogyasri health cards to the farmers on par with the government employees as they were contributing to the nation development by providing the necessary food to the country.

Accordingly, the Bhim Army team led by its state chief secretary Vasala Srinivas Swaero, district leader E Sampath, D Bhaskar, M Ashok and others met the Agriculture Minister in his chambers in Hyderabad and submitted a memorandum on Wednesday.  The Bhim Army leaders have urged the state government to distribute health insurance cards to all the farmers in the state and instil confidence to avail free medical treatment in all corporate hospitals.

They also urged the state government to issue orders instructing the farmers to take up the cultivation of paddy during the rabi season and purchase the same from the farmers by providing MSP. Demanding the government to procure all the farmers produce, he said that the government should also provide seeds and agricultural appliances on subsidy for the mechanisation of the farm sector.
