KARIMNAGAR: The Telugu Desam Party Karimnagar district unit has announced its support to the Bharath bandh call given by farmers unions and others on September 27 in protest against the farm laws and anti-farmers and anti-peoples policies of the Union government.

Announcing the party stand at the Karimnagar parliament party functionaries meeting in Karimnagar town on Friday, TDP Karimnagar parliament constituency president Ambati Joji Reddy called upon all the party leaders from the village level to participate in the nationwide bandh and support the cause of the farmers. He informed the party leaders to take out the motorcycle rallies in support of the farmers and opposing the farm laws.

Flaying the TRS government for its proposed plan to increase the prices of the RTC bus charges and the electricity charges, he demanded the government to withdraw the proposed bus fare and power bills hike.  He alleged that the TRS government was planning to increase the power tariff because of its inefficiency in governance. When there was huge power generation and the electricity was available at cheaper rates in the country, the TRS government was planning to increase the power tariff and burden the common man, he charged.

He alleged that the TRS government was also planning to dilute the TSRTC by selling away its precious lands to its leaders in the form of the construction of multiplexes and shopping malls. Charging that the Dharani portal was launched only for the benefit of KCR and his family members to regularise their properties, he said that the Dharani portal was of no help to the farmers and demanded the government to abolish the Dharani portal and reintroduce the old system in the revenue department. TDP leaders K Agaiah, A Venkataiah, Venkateshwarlu Goud, Damera Satyam, Parlapalli Ravinder, Rodda Sridhar and others participated in the meeting.
