Students told to build a corruption-free society

Vigilance awareness week observed at government women’s degree college in Karimnagar
KARIMNAGAR: Several students and volunteers of the National Service Scheme of the Government women’s degree and PG college took part in the integrity pledge, as part of the Vigilance awareness week celebrations on the college premises in Karimnagar town on Monday.
College principal T Srilakshmi said that the students and youth should focus on building a corruption free society and added that the honesty and integrity alone can help people lead dignified life, leading to better governance. NSS programme officer T Lavanya and M Shakunthala informed the students to lead a life filled with values and ethics and maintain transparency in their daily life.
They called upon the students to fight against the corruption as the development of nation was being hindered because of corruption in the society. On this occasion, the NSS had organised an essay writing competitions for the students on the topic of “role of students in the eradication of corruption”. NSS programme officer D Sujatha and other faculty members were also present.
