STP network to supply treated water to horticulture at NTPC township inaugurated

PEDDAPALLI: The NTPC Ramagundam, which is at the forefront of the environmental protection programme, has inaugurated the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) treated water supply network to the NTPC township Horticulture on Saturday.
The sewerage water collected from the NTPC townships will be treated at the STP before sending the water to the horticulture purposes. The new facility is in line with the NTPC’s focus on the reuse and recycle of water. The existing STP has the capacity of treating 3.5 million litres per day which was inaugurated earlier this year.
On Saturday, NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar had formally inaugurated the STP. Located inside the Telangana project, the STP will discharge treated water for its township horticulture by using two pumps with each having 40 HP capacity.
Soumendra Das, GM (O&M), Prasenjit Pal, GM (Project), Ch Murali Krishna, GM (Mech Erection), D V Rao, GM (Commissioning & Testing), Emani Rama Murthy, CMO (GM-Medical), V Nagaraju, AGM (TAD), office bearers of Unions and Associations and other officials were present on the occasion. Later they inspected the facilities and expressed their satisfaction with the progress despite the Covid Disruption.
