Singareni thermal power station officials told to emerge as number one generation station in country

PEDDAPALLI: Singareni Collieries Company Limited chairman and managing director N Sridhar has informed the officials of the 1200 MWs Singareni Thermal Power Project in Jaipur village of Mancherial district to strive hard to emerge as the number one thermal power plant in the country with the highest plant load factor (PLF) in power generation.
The Singareni thermal power station had emerged as the second-largest power generation station in the country at 85 per cent PLF during the first six months of this financial year. The power station had generated 4,473 million units of power at PLF of 85 per cent during the months of April to September this year when compared to the generation of 3,085 million units of power at 58 per cent PLF during the last year first six months.
At a review meeting with the officials in Singareni bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday, the C&MD instructed the officials of the Singareni thermal power station to continue the same power generation and reach the PLF of 92 per cent and emerge as the number one power station in the country by the end of this financial year. He said that the TSGenco in the state was also leading in power generation.
With regard to the solar power plants, Mr Sridhar directed the officials to take measures to take measures to generate at least 500 MWs of solar power every year in the coming three years period i.e 2024-2025. The Singareni had so far installed 209 MWs of solar power plants in various parts of the coal belt.
On this occasion, he also reviewed the progress of mechanisation of the underground mines to increase coal production. He instructed the concerned officials to take all measures to increase the coal production in Adriyala long-wall, continuous miner mines and more operation of LHD (load haul dumpers) and SDL (side discharge loaders) machines.
Directors S Chandrashekhar and D Satyanarayana Rao, general managers K Suryanarayana, P Sathaiah, K Nagabushan Reddy, technical consultant Sanjay Kumar Sur and others were also present.
