Singareni thermal power station bags another national award in energy efficiency category

PEDDAPALLI: The Singareni thermal power station in Jaipur of Mancherial district has bagged the prestigious Energy Efficiency award for the year 2021 by the Council of Enviro Excellence, Mumbai.

The Council of Enviro Excellence had stated that the Singareni thermal power station was performing extraordinarily by following the environmental protection issues and reducing the use of coal in power generation. Against the norms of using 2444 kilocalories of coal for generation one unit of 600 MWs power plant, the Singareni thermal unit was using only 2425 kilocalories of coal. The Singareni has bagged the award for lesser use of coal for generating power and adopting lesser oil consumption.
In a statement here on Friday, Singaren chairman N Sridhar congratulated the employees of the thermal power station for achieving national-level recognition in power generation with good plant load factor and following all environmental norms. The Singareni thermal power station started only five years ago, but had won four national awards, he stated.
Earlier, Mission Energy had awarded the Singareni with best water efficiency award, best power plant performance award and best fly-ash utilisation award. Freshly, the Council of Enviro Excellence had awarded an energy efficiency award for less utilisation ofoal.
