Singareni making steady progress in coal production

PEDDAPALLI: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is making strides in coal production and transportation braving the pandemic situation during the month of July this year.

Against the target of producing 47.56 lakh metric tonnes of coal in the month of July this year, the Singareni had achieved 48.67 lakh metric tonnes with a growth rate of 102.34 per cent. In July last year, they had produced only 28.5 lakh metric tonnes of coal.
Similarly in the dispatching of the coal to various destinations, the Singareni achieved 50.29 lakh metric tonnes of coal against the target of 45.56 lakh MT with a growth rate of 110.39 per cent. Last year July, they had dispatched only 28.5 lakh MT.
Even in the removal of overburden (OB) at the OCPs also, the Singareni made steady progress in the month of July this year. Against the target of removal of 296.16 lakh cubic meters of OB, the management achieved 257.6 lakh cubic meters. Last year, it was only 195.2 lakh cubic meters.
The Singareni had achieved coal production of 204.36 lakh metric tonnes during the last four months this year when compared to only 123.5 lakh MT last year. Likewise, the coal dispatch was 217.25 lakh metric tonnes this year when compared to 113.8 lakh metric tonnes last year.
SCCL chairman and managing director N Sridhar had congratulated the coal miners and officials for record coal production and dispatch during the first four months of this year. He informed them to continue the same spirit and achieve new milestones in the history of Singareni.
