KARIMNAGAR: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited, which has embarked upon an ambitious task of setting up 250 MWs of floating solar power plant on the waters of Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, has launched the survey work for the execution of the project.
Accordingly, SCCL Director (Electrical and Mechanical) D Satyanarayana along with the representatives of Aeris solar power and the Singareni officials conducted a survey on the LMD reservoir by touring on the waters in a boat on Thursday. They would be conducting several studies such as hydrographic, bathymetric and other studies. They would also conduct bed soil survey and testing etc.
The government had already accorded permission for the execution of the floating solar power plant on the LMD waters. The fisheries and irrigation department reports are awaited for the execution of the project. The survey would be carried for about a month. The project work would begin tentatively in the January 2022 and completed within 12 months and synchronized with the grid in early 2023. Deputy DGM S Srinivas, SE A Natraj Prasad, Aeris representatives P Naveen and K Varma were also present.
