Siddipet Collector resigns and likely to enter into politics

SIDDIPET: Collector P Venkatarama Reddy, a 2007 batch conferred IAS officer, has submitted his resignation as he opted for a Voluntary retirement scheme. He is all set to plunge into politics by joining the ruling TRS, which is likely to nominate him as the Member of Legislative Council (MLC).

A native of Indurthi village in Odela mandal of Peddapalli district, Mr Venkatarama Reddy joined the state government as group-I officer in 1996. He worked as RDO in Bandar, Chittoor,  Tirupathi,, PD DWMA in Medak, Secretary HUDA, MD LIDCAP, Joint Collector in Medak, later Collector of Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak and Rajanna-Sircilla district.

He played a crucial role in the execution of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project in the Siddipet district by acquiring land for the Mallannasagar and other projects. He had also emerged as a role model in the construction of model double bedroom houses in the R&R colony. He was also instrumental in the beautification of the Siddipet town on par with Hyderabad city and the completion of the Mission Bhageerath project of providing drinking water connections to each and every household.
