Santhi Kumari is first woman Chief Secretary of Telangana state
HYDERABAD: Senior IAS Officer A Santhi Kumari has been appointed as the first Chief Secretary of the Government of Telangana state in place of Somesh Kumar, who is shifted to the Andhra Pradesh state.
The 1989 batch officer has been appointed has served in various capacities in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state and later in the Telangana state. Previously, she was serving as the Special Chief Secretary for Environment and Forests department. An MSc marine biology, Santhi Kumari also completed her MBA in the USA.
After taking charge, Santhi Kumari visited the Pragathi bhavan and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on her appointment. The CM also congratulated her. It may be mentioned here that Santhi Kumari worked in Medak district as Collector when Mr Chandrashekhar Rao was the state Minister during the TDP regime.
