RV Karnan assumes charge as new Collector in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: RV Karnan has assumed charge as the new Collector of Karimnagar district on Tuesday.

The 2012 batch IAS officer was working in Khammam district as a Collector. The state government has transferred and posted him to Karimnagar on Monday night replacing K Shashanka, who was informed to report to GAD in Hyderabad.

Additional Joint Collector GV Shyam Prasad Lal, Municipal Commissioner Valluru Kranthi, Additional Joint Collector (local bodies) Girima Agarwal, trainee Collector Mayank Mittal and others greeted the new Collector after assuming the charge in his chambers by presenting him with flowering plants.

Later, Mr Karnan convened an introductory meeting with all the district officials at the conference hall. He interacted with the heads of each and every department and inquired about various issues including the progress of welfare programmes and government schemes. Inquiring about the deadly virus with the medical officials, he instructed the officials to expedite the process of conducting door to door fever surveys in coordination with the village secretaries.

He also inquired about the area of cultivation, irrigation sources, various crops cultivated and produced in the district. Inquiring about the Palle prakruthi vanams, he also asked about the Vaikunta damams and Haritha haram programme.

Reminding that the district had progressed under the leadership of Mr K Shashanka, he urged upon the officials to continue the works with the same spirit and vigour to achieve the goals. He also informed the officials to extend the same cooperation for the all round development of the district. District agriculture officer V Sreedhar, DPO Butchaiah, District rural development officer Srilatha, DMHO Dr Juveria and others were also present.
