KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar district Congress party leaders paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 30th death anniversary by garlanding his statue in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Karimnagar City Congress committee president Komatireddy Narender Reddy said that Mr Rajiv Gandhi bought the information technology (IT) four decades ago to the country with a vision. “If the Rajiv Gandhi was not assassinated, he would have made the country super power in the world”, he pointed out.
Flaying the ruling TRS party for neglecting the development of islands at Indira chowk and Rajiv chowk in Karimnagar town, he said that the government should not make politics in the development of the islands of the national leaders. He demanded the authorities to develop the islands on par with other islands in the town.
Congress leaders G Srinivas Reddy, R Tirupathi reddy, L Babu, K Pochaiah, Satyanayana Reddy, M Bhaskar, Dhanna Singh, P Ramesh, and others were also present.
