Rich tributes paid to former MP Chokka Rao on his birth anniversary

KARIMNAGAR: Rich tributes were paid to former MP and senior Congress leader J Chokka Rao on the occasion his 99th birth anniversary celebrations by organising various programmes in Karimnagar town on Tuesday (July 19).

The Congress party leaders led by its DCC president Dr Kavvampalli Satyanarayana paid floral tributes to the portrait of Chokka Rao at the party office and later his statue near Karimnagar One town police station. On this occasion, the party leaders organised food distribution to the inmates of Veerabrahmendra Swamy oldage home at Housing board colony, Government oldage home at Kharkhanagadda and Padmanayaka oldage home at Irikulla village on the outskirts of Karimnagar town.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Satyanarayana said that Chokka Rao had attained distinction in the integrated Karimnagar district politics with his statesmanship. He bought reputation to all posts he had occupied including ZP chairman, Karimnagar MP, Telangana regional development board chairman and others. Chokka Rao’s grandson Juvvadi Nikhil Chakravarthy, City Congress president Komatireddy Narender Reddy, and others participated in the programme
