Women SHGs turn into entrepreneurs by setting up various and marketing their products for their economic empowerment
JAGTIAL: The Joint mandal level banking committee (JMLBC) has expressed complete satisfaction over the activities taken up by the women Self-help group (SHG) by taking up various entrepreneurship programmes for their economic empowerment in various parts of Jagtial district.
The bank officials led by Lead district manager C Venkat Reddy, NABARD DDM Manohar Reddy, T-SERP project director Srikar Sudheer, Mahatma Gandhi national fellow Navya and others visited the Laxmipur village in Jagtial rural mandal on Thursday to study the functioning of SHGs, who took financial assistance under bank linkage and T-SERP (society for elimination of rural poverty).
The bank officials team inspected the traditional way of extracting oil through ‘katteganuga’, raw rice mill, biryani point, marriage caps manufacturing centre, marriage pots (kuradi) production centre, general store, pearls unit, bags unit, flour mill, taxi and other units and inquired about its functioning and their marketing strategies and income etc.
Appreciating the women SHGs for their economic activities, LDM Venkat Reddy and NABARD DDM Manohar Reddy said that the womenfolk of the Laxmipur village emerged as role model for the women SHGs in the integrated by taking up innovative enterprises for their economic activities. They said that the farmers of the village have also set a milestone in the district with their innovative farming technologies and marketing of their produce by value addition.
T-SERP project director Srikar Sudheer said that the products produced by the women SHGs of the district were being displayed and marketed at the women SHGs products mela Saras-2021 in Hyderabad and there were good sales of the products too. Sarpanch Ch John, MPTC member N Sunitha and others were also present.
