Poll observers inspect counting centre in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: The Election Observers deployed in the district to oversee the Huzurabad by-elections had inspected the counting centre at SRR government arts and science college in Karimnagar town on Thursday along with District election officer and Collector RV Karnan.

Election general observer Muthu Krishnan Shankar Narayan and police observer Anupam Agarwal along with the Collector and Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana and other officials inspected the counting centre where the counting would take place on November 2 after the polling on October 30. They also inspected the strong rooms where the EVMs would be stored before the counting.
On this occasion, the observers instructed the authorities to install CCTV cameras for close surveillance and deployment of police forces for the round the clock surveillance at counting centre and strong rooms. In the view of counting of votes on November 2, the election observers had informed the police to barricade the centre and close one side of the road. Additional Collectors GV Shyam Prasad Lal and Garima Agarawal, Karimnagar RDO Anand Kumar and others were also present.
