Political heat simmers in Huzurabad

KARIMNAGAR: The political heat is simmering in the Huzurabad assembly segment with the by-elections round the corner.
On Thursday, mild tension prevailed at Ambedkar cross roads in the Huzurabad town with the clashes between the ruling TRS and opposition BJP rank and file and hurled slippers on each other. Since morning, an issue of Etala Rajender’s brother-in-law Madhusudhan Reddy’s whats app chatting reportedly insulting dalits went viral in the social media in the town.
On the other hand, the BJP leaders alleged that it was the handiwork of the ruling TRS to defame the BJP. On this issue, Rajender’s wife Jamuna visited the venue to conduct “milk abhishekam” to the statue of Ambedkar. At this juncture, the TRS leaders arrived at the spot and ensued in a verbal duel and clashes erupted. The police rushed to the spot and dispersed the TRS activists.
Reacting to the incident, Mr Etala Rajender, who was participating in the padayatra in Jammikunta mandal, said that the TRS government which was unable to face him in the elections was resorting to cheap tactics. He charged that the television channel owned by the ruling party was telecasting false news against him. “Let them (TRS leaders) do whatever they want and resort to any cheap tricks, the people will teach a fitting lesson to KCR in the by-elections”, he maintained.
Reminding that the people call him Rajender Madiga if he attends Madigas meeting, he said that when dalits visited to wash his feet today. He first touched the dalits feet and paid obeisance before they washed his feet, he stated. He also charged that the state government had forced Dr RS Praveen Kumar, who was promoting knowledge among dalits, to resign.
On the hand, the BJP leaders had lodged a complaint with the Jammikunta police against the fake Whats app chatting of Rajender’s brother in law Madhusudhan Reddy which went viral in the social media. Similarly, Etala Rajender’s PA Naresh had lodged a complaint with the police against the fake social media campaign.
