Police celebrate Rakshabandhan by distributing facemasks

‘Aap ki raksha mask hai –Behen ki raksha rakhi hai’
KARIMNAGAR: Amid apprehensions about the possible outbreak of the third wave of deadly Covid-19, the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have celebrated the Raksha bandhan festival with a difference by creating awareness among the people about the importance of wearing facemasks and also distribute masks free of cost to the persons not wearing the masks.
Under the slogan of “Aap ki raksha mask hai – Behen ki raksha rakhi hai” (facemask for your safety and protection and Rakhi for the protection of sister, the police teams lead by Additional DCP (law and order) Srinivas and Town ACP T Srinivas Rao and others toured the busy market area at the Tower circle, Venkateshwara temple on Sunday where the people were busy purchasing rakhies, sweets and other gifts and educate the people about the importance of adhering to Covid norms of wearing a facemask, following social distancing and use of sanitisers.
Creating awareness about the importance of proper wearing of the facemasks, the police had also distributed masks to the persons not wearing them with a warning to impose heavy fines if they found them again roaming without a facemask. The police also empowered them about the importance of maintaining social distancing while shopping in the market places and malls etc. Inspectors Natesh, Damodar, Nagarjuna, Srinivas and others were also present.
