Officials favoured optimum utilisation of machinery at Singareni to increase coal production

PEDDAPALLI: In the wake of heavy demand for coal in the national market, the management of the Singareni collieries company limited had instructed the authorities concerned to intensify the coal production with the optimum utilisation of the machinery in the open cast projects by increasing its working hours.
Following the instructions of the Singareni chairman N Sridhar, Singareni Collieries Company Limited Directors S Chandrashekhar (operations), N Balram (finance) and D Satyanarayana (E&M) had conducted a video conference with the general managers of all the mines from Singareni bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday. On this occasion, they instructed the managers to take measures for the removal of at least 14 lakh cubic meters of overburden (OB) per day at all OCPs.
Stating that the company showels were working for only 13 hours in a day for the removal of OB, they instructed the managers concerned to see that the showels work for about 18 hours in a day. Following the demand for coal in the country, they instructed the managers to see to it that there was the dispatch of daily 2 lakh tonnes of coal to various companies.
