NTPC Ramagundam launches Kawach, the safety mascot

PEDDAPALLI: With an objective of enhancing the Safety Culture across the company, the NTPC unveiled the Safety Mascot ‘Kawach’ at the NTPC Ramagundam plant gate-1 on Tuesday.
Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories Y Gangadhar Reddy along with NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar inaugurated the Safety Mascot. In next few days. three more Safety Mascots would be unveiled at Ramagundam Plant Gate No-2, Telangana Project Gate and Township Gate.
Speaking on the occasion, Gangadhar Reddy appreciated the NTPC for its ‘Safety First’ approach. The ‘Kawach’(protection) would remind the employees, workers and stakeholders all the time about the important aspect of having a safe work culture, he added.
Echoing a similar view, Sunil Kumar said that the safety mascot ‘Kawach’ represents the NTPC’s firm belief in workplace safety. It symbolises NTPC’s constant endeavour to provide a safer working environment and strive for zero incidents at work. With this mascot, NTPC aims to be the ‘KAWACH’ for all its employees.
GM(TS) PK Laad, GM (O&M) Soumendra Das, Head of HR Vijaya Lakshmi M, DGM (Safety) Ashish Sharma, Office Bearers of Unions and Associations, Senior officials from CISF; Safety officials and others were present on the occasion.
