PEDDAPALLI: The NTPC Ramagundam has celebrated its 44th Raising Day with much pomp and great enthusiasm in the township on Sunday.
The celebrations started with the plantation of saplings followed by Prabhath pheri (morning walk) led by Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar.
Later, at the CGM unfurled the NTPC flag followed by NTPC Geet sung by all employees. They also cut the cake and released balloons as a tribute to Ramagundam completing 44 years.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Kumar highlighted the achievements of the plant so far in the FY 2020-21 and thanked the various departments for their hard work and achievement. He applauded the station’s progress over the last 44 years. Besides highlighting its core area of power generation, he also threw light on the NTPC-Telangana Super Thermal Power Project’s progress.
He shared the station’s recent success in receiving the HMTV Award for environment protection initiatives, CII National Energy Leader Award in Energy Management, Golden Peacock Award in Plant performance and Swarn Shakti Award for Best Project Management (Telangana Project).
All senior GMs and other senior officials, office bearers of different unions and associations, CISF officials and employees were present at the programme.
