NTPC 100 MWs floating solar power plant to be commissioned by December 2021

PEDDAPALLI: The NTPC Ramagundam is all set to commission the 100 MWs floating solar power project in its reservoir by December 2021, said Sunil Kumar, Chief General Manager, NTPC Ramagundam and Telangana.

The 100 MWs solar power project, which is stated to be the largest in the segment in the country, is coming up in 450 acres of water surface of the reservoir. Similarly, the 1600 MWs Telangana super thermal power project is also expected completion of the construction activities at the earliest and contribute to the development of the Telangana state, he stated.
The NTPC Ramagundam celebrated the 75th Independence day with patriotic spirit in the township on Sunday by adhering to the Covid norms. The Chief General Manager hoisted the tri-colour. The CISF personnel presented an impressive parade and presented a guard of honour. Addressing the gathering, Mr Sunil Kumar remembered the sacrifices and contributions made by our great freedom fighters and highlighted the glorious history of NTPC and its contribution to the development of the country. Despite Covid-19 disruption, NTPC-Ramagundam is performing well in the areas of Plant Performance, R&M, Environment Management, 100% Ash Utilisation during the last four years and the CSR activities with special thrust on efforts taken to counter the menace of Covid-19, he added.
The Covid-19 has affected every sphere of life. NTPC is committed to providing a safe and healthy atmosphere so that all can contribute to the development of the country. During this critical period, we supported our employees and their family members and agency workers/employees by facilitating vaccination besides carrying out regular RAT tests and handing over medical kits, he said.
On this occasion, Sunil Kumar along with senior officials presented Business Unit Head (BUH) Meritorious Awards to 50 Employees; Power Excel Awards to six employees; BUH Safety Awards to 10 employees and Manveeyata Puraskar to one employee.
Independence Day celebration was also held at May Day Park of Ramagundam Plant, Telangana Project and Deepthi Mahila Samithi premises wherein Soumendra Das, GM (O&M), Prasenjit Pal, GM (Telangana Project) and Usha Kumar, President, Deepthi Mahila Samithi respectively hoisted the National Flag.
