NSS volunteers of women’s college on a mission mode

KARIMNAGAR:  The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Government Degree College for Women in Karimnagar town are on a mission mode to serve the society and adopted the villages to take up various development and social service programmes for the transformation of the villages on the outskirts of Karimnagar town.

Accordingly, the NSS three units of the college have separately adopted three villages viz Nusthullapur lead by college NSS programme officer unit-I T Lavanya, Mahatmanagar by NSS programme officer unit-2 M Shakunthala and Ramakrishna colony by NSS programme officer unit-3 D Sujatha. Incidentally, all the villages fall under the jurisdiction of the Thimmapur mandal on the outskirts of the town.

On this occasion, the NSS volunteers took out rallies separately in all three villages to educate the people about the ill effects of plastic. They also visited each and every household and educated them to discourage the use of plastics as it was causing cancer and also posing threat to the environment. They had also distributed cloth bags to the villagers and appealed to the villagers to discourage the use of plastics.
