NSS volunteers launch cleanup drive in Women’s degree college in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of the Government women’s degree and PG college in Karimnagar town have participated in the programme of taking up cleanliness drive in the college on Saturday by removing the garbage and shrubs as part of the Clean India campaign launched by the Union government.
Led by the NSS programme officers Dr Tuniki Lavanya and Markonda Shakuntala, the NSS volunteers have actively participated in the removal of fully grown shrubs, weeds and removed the garbage by taking up a cleanliness drive by using the broomsticks. The volunteers had completely cleaned their campus by removing all the garbage and shrubs.
Appreciating the NSS volunteers ‘shramdhan’ (voluntary labour) to keep their college premises clean and tidy, Principal T Srilakshmi also called upon the students to maintain individual hygiene and also keep their surroundings clean to check the spread of diseases and mosquitoes.
