People told to celebrate on low-key affair in the houses with family members
KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police, following the directives issued by the state government to prevent the cases from spiraling due to Omicron, have informed the people of the district to celebrate the New year celebrations on a low-key affairs in their own houses.
Reiterating that the parties will not be allowed in hotels, restaurants and other function halls but also in the residential colonies, Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana said that there would be increased patrolling and heightened vigilance and surveillance.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, the CP said that the security would be intensified at all shopping malls, restaurants, bakeries, eateries and other crowded places. He said that they would launch intensified drive against the drunken driving and seize the vehicles for rash and negligent driving in an inebriated condition.
He said that the local police and higher officials including the Additional DCPs, ACPs would be on the streets on December 31 evening onwards. He also said that they would continue their imposition of fines on the people for not wearing the facemask. He also said that there was complete ban use of public address system and DJ music and bursting of fireworks and cause nuisance in the district.
Warning the parents of registering criminal cases against if they give their vehicles to the minors, he also warned the youth of stringent action if they move in the night and making catcalls and making nuisance in the residential colonies.
