RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: The much-hyped integrated district offices complex albeit the Collectorate complex on the outskirts of Sircilla textile town of Rajanna-Sircilla district was inundated and submerged in the floodwaters following the incessant rains on Thursday.
The new Collectorate office complex was constructed on a sprawling 94 acres of land at a cost of Rs 65 crore. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had inaugurated the office complex on July 4 with much fanfare in the presence of his cabinet colleagues.
As the Collectorate complex was constructed in the tank bed of the Ragudu village on the outskirts of the town, the floodwaters entered into the newly constructed office building. The water also entered into the cellar parking complex and other areas of the new building. The locals say that the waters from the Ragudu tank would enter into the Manair river and reach the MMD and LMD reservoirs.
