KARIMNAGAR: The National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of the Government degree college for women in Karimnagar town celebrated the 13th National voters Day by administering pledge to the students on Wednesday (January 25, 2023).
Participating in the celebrations, Karimnagar Revenue Divisional Officer Anand informed the students, who attained the age of 18 years to get enrolled as voters and exercise their franchise. He said that the National Voters day was being organised by the Election Commission of India to enhance the participation of the voters, especially the youth, in the democratic process.
He said the future of the country was in the hands of the voters and it was imperative for the youth to realise the importance of voting and exercise their rights as they had a role to play in national reconstruction He also added voting was a right and the youth of the country should realise the importance of elections and take part in it by exercising their franchise and elect suitable candidates as their representatives. Principal T Sreelakshmi, NSS programme officers T Lavanya, M Shakuntala, D Sujata and P Aruna were also present.
On the other hand, the College department of computer science and applications organised a lecture on software programming. Software engineer and speaker Jyotsna Reddy, computer faculty members B Rajani Devi, M Kalpana, D Srinivas, M Harikrishna, M Bhanupriya and others were also present.
