MMD land oustees hail HC decision on wrongfully claiming compensation for fort

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: The villagers of Chinthalthana in Rajanna-Sircilla district, the submerged village under the Mid Manair Dam project, have hailed the decision of the Telangana High Court for instructing the district administration to wrongfully make payment to the tune of Rs 55 lakhs for the public property of Fort (buruju) in the village to one R Haricharan Rao.
It may be recalled that Gandra Mohan Rao practising advocate in the High court has represented Shankar Rao & other villagers of Chinthalthana on swindling of Rs 55 lakhs by one Haricharan Rao claiming the Fort as his own property under the Land Acquisition Act of 2017 in High court by filing a writ petition.
Haricharan Rao claimed that the Fort belongs to his own personal property and even gave his house number and by colluding with the government authorities had collected Rs 55 lakhs as compensation. On Monday, the division bench headed by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice N Tukaramji directed Rajanna-Sircilla Collector to file a status report on wrongful payment of compensation to Haricharan Rao under the Land Acquisition proceedings within three weeks.
