MIM legislator flays Minister Gangula Kamalakar for not responding to demolition of houses belonging to Muslims in Rekurthi by real estate mafia

KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 09, 2023: MIM legislator from Nampalli Jaffar Hussain Meraj has launched a scathing attack against the district administration and police authorities for not reacting to the plight of the Muslims, whose houses were illegal demolished by the real estate mafia at the behest of Minister for Civil Supplies Gangula Kamalakar.

Mr Jaffar Hussain the Rekurthi locality on the outskirts of Karimnagar town and visited the Zarinanagar and Mohsin nagar on Friday where the real estate mafia had demolished the constructed houses a few weeks back. He interacted with the people, who lost their houses and assured all assistance from the MIM.

Speaking on the occasion, the Legislator reminded that the Karimnagar landlord Sheik Khan’s inheritor Sheik Saleh had distributed 60 yards of land to Muslims, SCs, BCs and Sikhs in Rekurthi village about 25 years ago. The beneficiaries were living in the said land after constructing houses for over 20 years, he said and alleged that the real estate mafia, who claimed as they were Minister for Civil Supplies supporters, had arrived at the spot and demolished the houses by using bull-dozers illegally by taking law into their lands.

In spite of this incident which forced poor people shelter-less, the Minister for Civil Supplies had never visited the site or consoled the victims, he stated and stated that the victims were stating that they would not leave the site where they were living for the past two decades and demanded the government to construct double bedroom houses at the same site for demolishing their houses. He alleged that the real estate mafia at the behest of the Minister resorted to this illegal acts.

Demanding the government to register Terrorist Act cases against the accused involved in the demolition of houses belonging to the poor Muslims in Rekurthi, he flayed the district police for supporting the accused persons and terrorizing the people by using bull-dozers. He asked whether friendly-policing means supporting the land grabbers and mafia. He flayed the police for not taking any action against the land grabbers in spite of lodging complaint.

Later, the Nampally legislator called on Collector RV Karnan at his camp office in Karimnagar town and informed about the demolition of the houses of poor Muslims. The Collector assured to look into the issue. MIM Karimnagar town president Syed Ghulam Ahmed Hussain, former deputy Mayor Md Abbas Sami and others were also present.
