Midnight swoop down, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay arrested
KARIMNAGAR: In a midnight swoop down, the Karimnagar police have arrested BJP state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar from his in-laws house in Jyothinagar, Karimnagar town, in the wee hours of Wednesday (April 5, 2023).
Mr Sanjay Kumar visited his in-laws to participate in the ninth-day rituals of his mother-in-law, who passed recently. Following the information about the arrival of Bandi Sanjay, the police teams led by Town ACP T Srinivasa Rao and others swung into action. The police visited the house after midnight and asked the BJP leader to accompany them to the police station.
When Bandi Sanjay refused and asked he was being arrested, the police said that they would inform the reason in the police station. Even after the BJP leader was refusing to accompany, the police have forcibly shifted him to the police vehicle amidst protests by the party cadre.
Mild commotion prevailed in the region with the arrival of hordes of party workers. The BJP state president planned to address a press conference on the TSPSC paper leakages in Karimnagar town and expose the government.
When the police were shifting the BJP leader in a vehicle to Hyderabad, the police vehicle got broke down at Thimmapur. Later, the police procured another vehicle and shifted him to Bommalaramaram police station. The reasons for his arrested were not disclosed yet.
