MCK to organise cultural nite to sign-off Dasara festivities in Karimnagar at Ambedkar stadium

KARIMNAGAR: The Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) authorities have decided to sign off the nine-day long Dasara festivities by organising the colourful cultural shows, fireworks and ‘Ravana dahan’ programmes at the sprawling Ambedkar stadium in Karimnagar town on Friday evening.
Accordingly, the authorities were making all arrangements for the grand event at the stadium by constructing the dais and chairs and barricading. The authorities were also making arrangements to occupy the galleries in the stadium.
Disclosing this to newsmen on Thursday evening, Mayor Y Sunil Rao said that they had launched the conduct of cultural programmes during the Dasara festival from last year following the directions of Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar. Taking into consideration last year experience, they had decided to conduct the festival with more highlights to attract the people of the town, he said.
The cultural show would begin at 6 pm and would go on till 9 pm. The popular singers, folk artists and classical dancers would enthral the gathering, he said and added that the special attraction would be the comedy skits by Zabardast TV show actors. Besides, the fireworks would be a special attraction, he added.
He said that they had invited TS planning board vice chairman B Vinod Kumar, MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, all the legislators and MLCs of the district, Collector RV Karnan, Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana and municipal corporators. Deputy Mayor Challa Swaroopa Rani, corporators Butchi Reddy, Vangala Sreedevi and others were also present.
