KARIMNAGAR: The Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) has embarked upon an ambitious task of the construction of state of the art modern municipal council hall for the conduct of general body meetings on the premises of the MCK office in Karimnagar town.

It may be recalled that the existing meeting hall was constructed long back when it was a municipality. As the town had been upgraded into the corporation and the municipal corporators number had increased, the existing council meeting hall had become congested for organising meetings. Hence, the MCK had taken up construction of modern meeting hall.

The ultra-modern meeting hall is coming up at a cost of Rs 2 crore along with two dining halls, separate toilets and elevator facilities. The meeting hall is special designed for proper accommodation for the corporators, officials and media persons. Each seat would be having special mike system and perfectly illuminated.

Mayor Y Sunil Rao visited the construction site on the office premises on Tuesday and inspected the progress of the works as per the plan. He informed the authorities to expedite the works before January 2022 to conduct the next general body meeting in the new conference hall with all facilities. He also directed the officials to provide visitors lounge in each floor and special toilets for the employees and visitors.
