Charitable hospital founder Dr Bhaskar Madekar statue unveiled
KARIMNAGAR: The Lions Club of Karimnagar Dr Bhaskar Madekar charitable eye hospital’s new building block constructed on its premises in Rekurthi on the outskirts of Karimnagar town was inaugurated and dedicated to the people on the occasion of the Dasara festival on Friday.
On this occasion, former Minister Chalmeda Anand Rao had formally unveiled the bust-size statue of Dr Bhaskar Madekar, who was the founder of the eye hospital in the year 1988. On this occasion, Mr Anand Rao recollected the services of Dr Madekar for the treatment of eye ailments and crusade against the removal of blindness in the entire north Telangana districts by starting the charitable eye hospital.
Lions charitable eye hospital chairman Dr A Anantha Reddy said that they had constructed the new block in the hospital at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore with the latest equipment for the benefit of patients. He also said that the hospital would provide free treatment to the people having white ration cards. Hospital trust board members and Lions Konda Venu Murthy, Chudura Suresh, Bomma Pawan Kumar, T Muralidhar Rao, Kola Anna Reddy, M Prakash Holla, Multiple council chairman Gurram Srinivas Reddy, district governor Nagula Santosh, second vice-governor Hanumandla Raji Reddy, CAIMS chairman Chalmeda Laxminarasimha Rao and others were also present.
