Legal metrology raids Spencer’s; registers five cases for cheating customers

KARIMNAGAR: The Legal Metrology department has registered five cases against Spencer’s retail limited for cheating the customers at Chaitanyapuri colony in Karimnagar town on Wednesday (September 21, 2022).
Following the complaint, the Karimnagar zone legal metrology Assistant Commissioner K Vijayasarathy and his staff Subhash and Karunkar inspected the trading premises of Ms Spencer’s. They found that Spencer’s was announcing several offers on fruits and other packaged commodities and not giving the same to the customer at the time of billing.
They served notices for cheating the customers by promising offers and later denying them at the time of billing. Similarly, they also registered cases for violation of several rules such as non-declaration of complete address, identity, net quantity, month and year of packing, MRP and customer care details etc
The AC informed the customers to lodge any complaint if they are facing any violations of Protection of Consumer Rules by the traders by dialling 9441828975 or sending message or WhatsApp.
