Legal awareness campaign launched to provide justice to people at their doorstep

KARIMNAGAR: As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Karimnagar district legal services under the aegis of the National legal services authority (NALSA) had formally launched the Pan India awareness cum outreach campaign in Karimnagar district on Saturday.
The programme was formally launched by district judge MG Priyadarshini at the legal services authority bhavan on the district court premises in Karimnagar town by paying floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of birth anniversary celebrations. Speaking on the occasion, the district judge said that the campaign would be carried out till November 14 covering all the 1279 villages and municipalities to provide legal aid to the poor beneficiaries.
The teams comprising of a judge, a panel advocate, a paralegal volunteer, law students, representatives of voluntary organisations and other stakeholders would visit each and every household and solve the legal issues free of cost. She said that the programme was nothing but providing access to justice at the doorstep of the people especially the rural masses.
She said that they would also launch an awareness campaign in the rural areas with the distribution of pamphlets and posters in public places to educate people to avail the benefits of this ambitious programme. She said that they would organise Lok Adalats and settle the disputes. First additional judge Bhavani Chandra, legal services authority secretary Sujay, bar association president Raghunandhan Rao and others were also present.
