Land oustees of irrigation projects seek constitution of corporation to improve their living conditions

KARIMNAGAR: The integrated Karimnagar district land oustees welfare association has urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to constitute a special Corporation for the welfare of the land oustees of all the irrigation projects taken up as part of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation projects including the Mid Manair Dam, Sripada Yellampalli, Mallannasagar and other dams in the state.
In a press note here today, Karimnagar district land oustees association president Regulapati Venkat Rao said that the government should constitute a separate Corporation headed by a principal secretary rank officer to study the living conditions of the land oustees after being vacated from the ancestral villages and relocated in the R&R colonies with poor amenities. He suggested that the corporation should take necessary measures to improve the living conditions of the project oustees.
The land oustees had sacrificed their precious lands and houses for the cause of the society to provide irrigation sources to several thousand of villages, he said and added that the land oustees were leading a life of a recluse and poor and deteriorating living conditions. They were suffering a lot due to poor education and health conditions, he said and demanded the government to provide health cards to all the land oustees and provide free education from KG to PG to the children of land oustees.
Mr Venkat Rao also sought compensation to the land oustees as per the Land Acquisition Act of 2013 and employment to all the youth who were displaced following the construction of irrigation projects.
