PEDDAPALLI: In a bizarre incident, a lactating mother had reportedly committed by hanging to the ceiling in the bathroom of the government area hospital in Godavarikhani coal belt on Sunday.
It is alleged that the woman had committed suicide unable to undergo mental agony and physical pain reportedly caused due to negligence of the doctors, who had performed C-sections for the delivery of a baby boy.
Reports reaching here said that the victim Uma (30) hailing from Rangampalli in Peddapalli town married to Gummadi Sanjeev of Rompikunta in Kamanpur mandal in 2010. She conceived after 11 years of marriage and she took treatment in a private hospital as well as a government hospital.
Accordingly, she joined the government area hospital for delivery on December 11 and delivered a baby boy after C-section on December 12 night. Incidentally, she committed suicide after 15-days after delivery in the bathroom of the hospital with her ‘chunni’.
It is stated that she was suffering from stitching pains after C-sections with improper stitches and wounds around it. Following the complaints about the stitches, the hospital authorities had again performed fresh stitches on December 17. But, she continued to experience the same problem of stomach pain with the wounds.
She had reportedly committed suicide unable to bear the pains due to failure of C-section surgery. The family members staged dharna in front of the hospital alleging negligence of doctors for the cause of death of a lactating mother.
