Koppula Eshwar informs leaders to take up inoculation on a mission mode to achieve 100 per cent vaccination

222 vaccination centres in district to provide vaccine to 13,00 persons daily

KARIMNAGAR: Minister for Social Welfare Koppula Eshwar has called upon the local bodies’ representatives to play a responsible in launching the vaccination drive on a mission mode to cent per cent vaccination of all eligible persons in the district.
Participating in a video conference with the local bodies representatives and district officials in Peddapalli district on Sunday, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had set a target of administering the vaccine to three lakh persons every day. He informed the elected representatives to set up vaccination centres in all wards and divisions and ensure that each and every person was inoculated.
He directed the local leaders to educate the rural masses about the importance of vaccination to protect them from the deadly virus. He also appealed to the doctors to educate the pregnant to undergo vaccination by organising special camps and remove inhibitions about vaccination.
Collector Sangeetha Satyanarayana said that they had opened 222 vaccination centres including 118 in urban areas and 104 rural areas to achieve cent per cent vaccination of persons who crossed 18 years of age. Stating that there were around 5.5 lakh persons who crossed 18 years of age, she said they had provided the first dose of vaccine 4,51,138 persons in the district.
She said that they were taking measures to ensure that at least 13,000 persons were inoculated every day in the district as part of a special drive. She said that IKP womenfolk, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers were visiting each and every house and educating about the vaccination and location of the camp in their vicinity.
ZP chairperson Putta Madhukar, Peddapalli legislator D Manohar Reddy, Ramagundam legislator Korukanti Chander, district medical and health officer Dr Pramod Kumar, Ramagundam mayor Dr Anil Kumar, Peddapalli municipal chairperson Mamatha Reddy, Manthani municipal chairperson Putta Shailaja and others also participated in the video conference.
