Kesarimal Karwa’s services were recalled on his 91st birth anniversary

Kesarimal Karwa would always be an inspiration for many and would be remembered for generations to come for his philanthropic and social service activities
KARIMNAGAR: Floral tributes were paid to eminent businessman, philanthropist and social worker Kesarimal Karwa and popularly called as ‘Kaka’ on the occasion of his 91st birth anniversary celebrations at his SVG granites in Odyaram village of Gangadhara mandal in Karimnagar district on Sunday (July 24).
People including the entire Marwadi community and other businessmen made a beeline to pay tributes to Mr Kesarimal Karwa at his memorial at the quarry. Prominent among those who paid tributes include Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao, Chalmeda Ananda Rao Institute of Medical Sciences (CAIMS) chairman Ch Laxminarasimha Rao, TS Police Housing Corporation chairman Kolleti Damodar, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar, Lok Satta Udyama Samstha district president Prakash Holla and others.
Though his birthday was on July 19, his family members celebrated the programme on Sunday by organising ‘Sundarakanda’ bhajan (devotional programme) organised by the guru Sri Kamlesh Maharaj and his troupe from Pune. Besides, a mega health camp was organised for the benefit of their workers numbering over 300 at the granite quarry.
Eminent doctors from Karimnagar town attended the camp and treated the employees and conducted various tests and also distributed medicines free of cost. On this occasion, the Karwa family also served food to all the employees and distributed sweets. His family members Bhagwandas Karwa, Venugopal Karwa, Bhagwan Karwa, Kushal Karwa, Krishna Karwa, Madhav Karwa and others were also present.
On this occasion, the dignitaries recollected the services of Mr Kesarimal Karwa such as the donation of monthly groceries to the orphanages and oldage homes in the district. They said that Mr Kesarimal actively participated in various social issues and crusaded along with Lok Satta udyama samstha and Karimnagar Consumers council.
Mr Karwa had won accolades for his contribution to encouraging bright students by providing financial assistance, computers and other assistance for their education. They recollected that he was also at the forefront in providing medical assistance to needy persons by providing financial assistance.
The dignitaries said Mr Karwa had seen the Telangana liberation day movement after Independence in 1947, the first statehood movement in 1969 and the second statehood movement from the advent of TRS till the formation of the Telangana state.
It may be mentioned here that Mr Kesarimal Karwa breathed his last in sleep while holidaying along with his family members on January 11, 2020, in Dubai. A renowned businessman in the district, he was a role model for the budding business persons. He was closely associated with former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajashekhar Reddy, former MPs J Chokka Rao and M Satyanarayana Rao and others.
