Provide compensation to farmers affected by recent rains

KARIMNAGAR: BJP state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao should implement the central government’s Fasal Bheema yojana in the Telangana state for the benefit of the farming community.

Expressing concern over the damages caused to the standing crops following the incessant rains and flash floods in various parts of the district, the BJP leader demanded that the state government should enumerate the crop losses and provide compensation accordingly.

The Karimnagar MP inspected the damaged crops and fields in Chenjerla and Gattududdenapalli villages in Manakondur mandal on Saturday and interacted with the farmers. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the farmers had incurred huge losses following the rains and floods. The farmers along the shores of river Godavari and Manair have lost a lot as the sand dunes were formed in the fields during the flash floods, he stated.

Even as the farmers were worried a lot about the crop damages and non-release of the Rythu bandhu financial assistance, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was busy playing ‘gimmicks’ for the by-elections to the Huzurabad assembly segment, he alleged. He flayed the state government for neglecting the plight of farming communities where were suffering a lot from natural calamities for the last several years.

Ridiculing the state government for selling away the precious government lands, he asked why the government was not taking any measures to bail out the farmers who had suffered due to the natural calamities. He demanded the government to provide compensation to the farmers who have lost their crops following the rains and floods.
