Karimnagar town progressing in reverse without any vision by BRS leaders: City Congress president
Broad roads were converted into narrow roads in the name of Smart City and causing traffic snarls in the entire town
Bus shelters are set up in an unscientific manner without operating city bus services

24×7 water supply is a distant dream, MCK is plagued with corruption and BRS leaders reigning terror
KARIMNAGAR: City Congress Committee president Komatireddy Narender Reddy has ridiculed Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar’s claim that the Karimnagar City has made strides on all fronts during the last three years of BRS elected Municipal body headed by Mayor Y Sunil Rao.
On the contrary, he said, the Karimnagar town was progressing in reverse with the conversion of broad roads into narrow roads in the name of Smart City works and causing traffic chaos (which has become the order of the day) and there are no municipal parks or parking lots for the vehicles and sanitation goes for a toss without fogging operations in spite of mosquito menace.
The Karimnagar which had never ever seen inundation has now become the order of the day even with a small amount of rain following the execution of unscientific drains, he alleged and flayed the Municipal authorities for the erection of bus shelters in various parts of the town without operating any city bus services in an unscientific and misuse of public exchequer.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday (January 30, 2023), Mr Narender Reddy charged that ever since the new municipal body took charge in January 2020, the MCK attained dubious distinction in corruption. The contractors were forced to give “commissions” to the elected representatives and officials, he said and alleged that the municipal corporators were also reigning terror in the respective divisions by demanding ‘mamools’ from the residents for the construction of houses as it was evident with a ruling party corporator demolishing a building under construction in Seetharampur locality.
He also flayed the ruling party leaders for failing to fulfil the promise of providing a 24×7 drinking water supply for the last nine years. He alleged that the authorities have failed to provide adequate water supply to the residents during the summer season. Congress leaders Sravan Naik, G Srinivasa Reddy, Lingampalli Babu, K Pochaiah, D Ravinder, K Arun Kumar, M Kavitha, U Latha, N Satish, Md Chand, Shabana Mohammed and others were also present.
